Today’s episode of Test Drive program documents one of the most famous sports car makers in the world entering the world of electric cars production, and the star of this episode is the new 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo that Karim Deeb has test-driven.
And before we introduce you to the new Porsche car that angered Elon Musk, these are the last 3 cars we hosted in Test Drive program:
The beginning of the first production electric Porsche car goes back to 2015 as a concept car called Porsche Mission E., and then Frankfurt Motor Show witnessed the launch of the production version, Taycan, last year. The car was previously test-driven by our website founder Mousub Shashaa, who drove a Turbo S version.
Watch The Video:
Karim described this new advanced car in a simple sentence, where he said that it is a “crazy performance rocket car”, and indeed it is. The most prominent competition for this electric car is the American electric car Tesla Model S, which got years of glory before it found a worthy opponent.
We have previously test-driven the Tesla Model S as you remember our dear ArabGT followers.
A turbo version of the Taycan is currently available in the Middle East markets, while the Taycan Turbo S has not arrived yet
Mechanical specifications of today’s star:
The car depends on two electric motors, one in the front with a one-speed gearbox, and the second engine is located in the back with a two-speed gearbox. Both engines generate a total power of 671hp and 850 Newton meters of torque.
This 2,300 kg all-wheel-drive electric car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds.
