Ata virtual event beamed around the world, Nissan unveiled the Z Proto, signaling the company’s intent to launch a new generation of the legendary Z sports car.
This concept paves the way for an upcoming production car that will replace the Nissan 370Z, which our colleague Karim Deeb has previously test-driven in detail as part of Test Drive program.
Despite low global sales of the sporty Z model, it appears that Nissan is not ready to abandon its popular sports car, made it launch this new concept, which has an exterior design derived from the Nissan Z model in its first generation. The shape of the hood and the canted, teardrop-shaped LED headlights are both unmistakable reminders of the original Z.

The interior design team sought advice from professional motorsports legends to give the Z Proto an ideal sports car cabin, both for road and track. This can be seen in the Z’s instrumentation. All vital information is found in the 12.3-inch digital meter display and arranged to help the driver grasp it at a glance, such as the redline shift point at the twelve o-clock position.
The engine details of this car are still vague, but it is likely to borrow the beating heart of the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400, which means that the power of the new sports car from Nissan will be close to 400 hp (406 PS) and 474 Nm of torque. Official information indicated that it the car will get a V-6 twin-turbo engine connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and it will work with a rear-wheel-drive system.
The price of this sports car is likely to start from 40,000 US dollars, equivalent to 150,000 Saudi riyals.
