This May Be The Fastest Production Car In The World

Today we will talk about the possibility to announce a new name that may win the title of the fastest production car in the world after some promising attempts to break world records. Of course, we are talking about a record related to high speed not acceleration figures. However, these details depend on expectations and there is nothing official or confirmed yet.

The star of this news will be the American  SSC Tuatara, which was revealed by SSC North America for the first time in the world as a prototype in 2011, and then in its production version years later, specifically during the month of August of 2018. The company announced that it will produce one hundred (100) Tuatara hypercars, all manufactured at the company headquarters in Richland, Washington, USA.

Media reports indicate that the SSC Tuatara is now competing for the title of the fastest production car in the world, to be the successor to the Ultimate Aero, which was crowned with this title in Guinness World Records during the years 2007 to 2010.

The Nevada Department of Transportation said that drivers faced some delays on State Route over the last weekend due to a “special two-day filming event.” While the press release didn’t go into details, the Pahrump Valley Times reported the delays were related to SSC’s “world land speed record attempt for a production car.”

Details indicate that this American car managed to break the record set by the Swedish car Koenigsegg Agera RS of 447.2 km / h (277.9 mph) in 2017.

This American hypercar is powered by a twin-turbo 5.9-liter V8 engine that produces 1,350 hp on 91 octane fuel and 1,750 hp when running on E85. The torque is 1,735 Newton meters, and the SSC V8 pairs with a CIMA 7 speed transmission, integrated with a state-of-the-art Automatic AMT system, providing sub-100 millisecond shifting capabilities in Track Mode.
